Indexed description

BLUE is a specialist global B2B communications consultancy for organisations operating in complex, high-value industries - such as maritime, marine leisure, energy and carbon markets. Since 2008, we've turned market expertise into influence and impact, helping clients lead conversations, shape markets and unlock growth.

Our credibility comes from deep immersion, not observation. We get close enough to our clients' businesses to understand what motivates them, and what keeps them awake at night, so we can operate as true consultants, not just a delivery team. It's why our clients stay, and why we've built long-term partnerships across some of the most complex, high-value industries there are.

The role

A Client Services Manager at BLUE is responsible for the day-to-day management, strategic direction, commercial health and delivery of projects and campaigns to both retained and project-based clients. You will act as the principal link between our clients and the agency’s internal specialist teams (PR & Communications, Digital marketing, Brand, Creative and Insight). With your strong relationship management skills and communications expertise, you will ensure that all projects and campaigns are delivered to a high standard, protect client reputations, and align seamlessly with their overarching business objectives.

Tasks

Project management & delivery

  • Become the primary point of contact for projects and campaigns, project managing multi-channel work under tight media deadlines
  • Translate high-level strategy into projects that exceed client expectations, built on strong relationships with client communications leads
  • Ensure all output meets brief and brand standards, coordinating reviews and approvals across internal teams and clients

Evaluation & reporting

  • Monitor and report on campaign delivery against agreed KPIs, project time, resource use and profitability
  • Proactively flag scope creep and drive efficiencies to keep every project commercially viable
  • Work with account and finance teams on time measurement, budget integration and approvals

Briefing & traffic management

  • Lead the intake of briefs from clients, clarifying scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines and budget
  • Translate briefs into actionable plans for designers, copywriters and other creative resource
  • Manage internal workflows and coordinate across teams to ensure smooth execution, flagging challenges and proposing solutions

Business development

  • Work alongside account managers to identify opportunities within retained and project-based client accounts
  • Collaborate across BLUE's brand, creative, digital marketing and insight teams to integrate capabilities into broader campaigns
  • Contribute to new business pitches, RFP proposals, and BLUE's own marketing content and case studies

Culture & leadership

  • Live by and promote BLUE's brand values, driving sustainability and excellence across the marine and energy sectors
  • Be an authoritative voice for the client services department, guiding the wider team on project and campaign best practice
  • Actively participate in team meetings, brainstorming workshops and collaborative internal sessions

Requirements

Essential

  • Proven experience managing multi-channel projects or campaigns in an agency environment, ideally spanning PR, digital, brand or creative disciplines
  • Strong commercial acumen and comfortable managing budgets, profitability and scope across multiple live projects
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, confident briefing and coordinating creative, digital and PR specialists
  • Proven ability to prioritise and deliver under tight, often media-driven deadlines
  • A strategic mindset, able to translate high-level briefs into clear, actionable plans

Desirable

  • Experience in, or genuine curiosity about, the marine, renewable energy or wider sustainability sectors
  • Experience contributing to new business pitches or formal RFP proposals
  • Familiarity with campaign reporting, evaluation tools and budget-tracking processes

Benefits

  • Hybrid working, with a 4pm Friday finish encouraged
  • Dog friendly offices
  • A charity donation made in your name on your birthday and the day off
  • Employee of the Quarter recognition
  • Additional annual leave after 2 years
  • New Business commission scheme
  • Employee assistance scheme
  • Two centrally located UK offices, fully stocked with food and drink
  • Regular team socials, from dragon boat racing to scavenger hunts
  • Perk Box access and discounts
  • Salary sacrifice pension scheme
  • ‘Work from anywhere’ policy (2 weeks, after 1 year of service)
  • A genuine stake in a growing, purpose-led consultancy
  • Opportunity for international travel and events
  • Weekly T@3 for knowledge sharing
  • Loyalty bonuses
