Visual C++ Software Engineer – Junior / Mid / Senior (6 openings)

PuntoUP Professional Recruitment is recruiting Visual C++ Software Engineers, at Junior, Mid and Senior level, for a well-established company in the flight and defense simulation industry. The team builds high-fidelity training simulators for aircraft, helicopters and other vehicle systems, and is currently growing across all three experience levels. Location: Bucharest area (Magurele) - Hybrid, 3 days on-site / 2 days home office

Main Purpose of the Job: As a Visual C++ Software Engineer you will build software models of vehicle systems and instruments used in flight and training simulators, from technical analysis and design documentation through to implementation, testing and validation. You will be integrated into an established, experienced engineering team and assigned to a track (visualization, user interface, or systems modeling) based on your background and interview performance.

We are hiring for three levels in parallel:

• Junior (1+ years) - 2 positions
• Mid (4+ years) - 2 positions
• Senior (9+ years) - 2 positions

Job Profile:

• Analyze technical documentation for the vehicle system, component, instrument or indicator to be modeled.
• Prepare software design documentation for the model, including specifications for any required graphical textures.
• Implement the source code in C/C++ in line with the approved design, including graphics rendering and communication with the host/driving application.
• Test and validate your own software models on a stand-alone basis.
• Develop software-based user interfaces using QT, .NET (C#), MFC or other relevant APIs, integrated within C++ based environments.
• Build specialized applications tailored to the requirements of the simulation industry.
• Participate in software deployment, system integration, testing and validation activities alongside the wider engineering team.
• Be available for occasional travel to customer and project sites as needed (not frequent, typically project-driven).

Candidate Profile:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or another relevant technical field.
• Relevant professional experience: minimum 1 year for Junior, minimum 4 years for Mid, minimum 9 years for Senior level.
• Good understanding and practical implementation of mathematical algorithms.
• Advanced proficiency in C and C++, including STL, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and Object-Oriented Design (OOD).
• Advanced English, both written and spoken.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for technical and design documentation.
• Familiarity with svn and git, and with Jira, Confluence and Agile development methodology.
• Self-motivated and proactive, able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
• Strong team-working and collaboration skills; open to occasional international travel.
• Nice to have: aerospace engineering background, Python, 3D graphics/rendering (OpenGL, DirectX, Vulkan), React for web-based UIs, or experience using AI tools (Claude, Copilot) in development workflows.
