Senior Java Developer - 1639

We are looking for an experienced Senior Java Developer to join a major client in the banking industry, working on modern and scalable enterprise applications.

Technical Skills Required:

Java & Spring Boot

• 5+ years of production Java development and strong knowledge of Java 17+.
• Strong experience with Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring AOP and Spring Batch.
• Experience with Spring Data JPA/JDBC and REST APIs.

Security

• Hands-on experience with OAuth 2.1, OIDC, JWT/JWKS.
• Knowledge of RBAC and ABAC authorization models.
• Experience implementing secure authentication and authorization mechanisms.

Messaging & Caching

• Experience with Apache Kafka / Spring Kafka.
• Hands-on experience with Redis/Lettuce, including caching strategies and cache invalidation.

Databases

• Strong experience with PostgreSQL.
• Experience with Flyway or Liquibase.

Containers & Kubernetes

• Experience deploying Spring Boot services on Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of readiness/liveness probes, HPA, ConfigMaps and Secrets.

Testing

• Strong experience with JUnit 5, Mockito, Spring Boot Test and Testcontainers.
• Experience designing unit and integration tests.

Software Architecture

• Understanding of Domain-Driven Design principles.
• Experience with cross-cutting concerns such as authorization, auditing and data masking.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Open Policy Agent (OPA) or Drools BRMS.
• Familiarity with HashiCorp Vault, Istio/service mesh and mTLS.
• Experience with ArchUnit, BIAN or API Gateway policy enforcement.
• Entra ID / Azure AD OIDC integration experience.
• Knowledge of GDPR, DORA or PSD2 in a technical context.
• Experience with core banking or financial services platforms.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Security-first mindset and strong attention to quality.
• Ability to translate complex technical requirements into clean and maintainable Java code.
• Comfortable collaborating with architecture teams and contributing to design decisions.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery and iterative design.
• Excellent communication skills in Greek and English
