Senior Software Engineer, Quantitative Research Technology

Our client is seeking a Sr. Software engineer to help advance the technology platforms that support a global quantitative investment research organization. This team develops and maintains the infrastructure, tools, and production systems that enable large-scale research, model development, and portfolio management workflows. The group is responsible for building and operating sophisticated data, analytics, and computation platforms that power systematic investment strategies. Working closely with quantitative researchers and data scientists, the team transforms research concepts into scalable production systems while continually enhancing the firm's research and investment capabilities.

Responsibilities:

As a software engineer, you will design, build, and enhance:

• Scalable cloud-based storage and compute platforms
• Research and analytics frameworks used by quantitative researchers
• Data ingestion, validation, and quality-control systems
• Large-scale model computation and signal generation pipelines
• Machine learning and natural language processing platforms
• Production systems that support portfolio construction and investment decision-making

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience designing, building, and delivering production-grade software systems.
• Experience developing cloud-native applications, preferably leveraging modern cloud infrastructure and services.
• Strong experience building and optimizing large-scale data processing systems and distributed data platforms.
• Experience designing, deploying, and operating production AI/ML systems with a focus on reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, observability, performance optimization, and operational excellence.
• Experience supporting quantitative research platforms, analytics systems, portfolio construction workflows, or related computational environments is a plus.
• Strong Python development experience; C++ experience is an advantage.
• Deep knowledge of Linux-based development and production environments.
• Strong SQL skills and experience designing efficient data storage, retrieval, and processing solutions.
• Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced environments with evolving priorities and complex technical challenges.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both engineering and non-engineering stakeholders.
• Familiarity with financial markets, investment workflows, or other time-sensitive distributed systems is a plus.
