Mechanical Design Engineer

We have an immediate need for a Mechanical Design Engineer at a leading company conveniently located in Langhorne, PA. This is a full time direct hire opportunity.

Job Duties Include:

• Design and optimization of mechanical components for mechanical powertrain systems
• Design and detail Fabricated Weldments and machined components which include frames, brackets, shafts, couplings, flanges, housing, clutches etc.
• Analysis of mechanical systems, including Finite Element analysis for structural, fatigue, thermal, vibration, and acoustics
• Analysis and specification of electro-mechanical and electro-hydraulic systems
• Develops manufacturing drawings in accordance with applicable standards Interfaces with outside vendors for component selection, manufacturing, and assembly
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports
• Confer with system engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information
• Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications
• Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications

Job Requirements Include:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 5+ years’ experience
• Experience designing multi-axis continuous duty industrial equipment Exposure to Robotics and Industrial Automation
• Good mechanical aptitude and knowledge Proficient in 3D CAD modeling and Inventor Vault
• Analyze customer design proposals, specification Ability to meet with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand needs and requirements Understand mechanical systems including pneumatics
