  • The role The primary responsibility for this role is new fuse product development and realization from idea/concept to product launch.
  • What we’re looking for SCHURTER is now looking for a fuse design engineer to join our office in Shenzhen, China. We´re looking for a self-motivated person with a positive, flexible and pragmatic mindset. You´re used to taking own initiatives and are always pushing for continuous improvements.   • Roles & responsibilities
  • Develop fuse new platform product based on the requirement from marketing team or specific product to meet customer’s requirement complying with industry standard.
  • Perform design verification via necessary approach such as prototyping; simulation; DOE; FMEA to mitigate technical risk
  • Take care of design for manufacture and design to cost
  • Create all the deliverables such as 3D；2D in line with company standard and maintain the data in teams center.
  • Take care of component and product validation, finding optimization measures to meet the target functions through the product and production release phase.
  • Other tasks on demand or assigned by line manager.
  • Skills & experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electromechanical Engineering or a related field
  • At least 5 years experience in design of fuse product at higher voltage ( +500V) + higher current + high breaking capcity
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant standard IEC60417 /UL 248 and AEC-Q200. Skilled in 3D; 2D CAD Tools
  • Much experience of designing the critical features such as melting element; fuse body ; caps terminals and arc quenching fillers to achieve high performance at efficient cost level.
  • Plus if with strong know-how about the raw material selection; contact physics and thermal simulation
  • In-depth knowledge of critical manufacture process such as stamping; plating and metal joint technology like spot welding and laser welding
  • Good understanding of circuit protection in some segmentations like industry and automotive applications
  • Good written; reading and verbal English communication skills;
  • Self-driven and reliable; juggle a multitude of tasks some with very short notice. Non-prestigious and humble person who understands that running a fast-growing/innovation company.
  • Good team player and driving for inovations.
