Engineer, Product Design

The job is to focus on execution job;

Clearly interpret customer technical requirements to CD Product Development Team, Engineering risk assessment, create 3Dmodel and 2D drawing, engineering checkpoints, testing plan per PDP process;

• NPI project development.
• Commercialization project engineering support.
• Build relationship with customer core team

• Collect and interpret customer design requirements from Customer communication or specifications.
• Review Requirements (drawing, model and standard…), feasibility assessment, and any exceptions with the Product Development Team (PDT) to gain Approval.
• Technical discussion with customer regarding the design feasibility and primary test plan.
• Perform design verification activities including tolerance analysis, FEA, SLA and patent investigation.
• Release ok to tool drawings and models for tooling design and development.
• Cooperate with CD design engineer for product validation test and documentation release.
• Provide training to customer and other Molex engineering personnel as assigned by the Product Development Manager.
• Provide design support for product modifications and/or extensions.
• Respond to customer complaints on design related issues.

• University Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent, and above.
• Good knowledge of product design process.
• At least 3 years of product design experience at connector company for automotive industry or Automotive tier 1 including device maker and harness maker.
• Understand with automotive connector industry (basic knowledge, industry standard, OEM requirement)
• Be willing to travel to customers and other Molex locations frequently as needed.
• Able to communicate (reading, writing) in English;
• Good communication skill with customer for technical requirements.
