As demand for offshore flexible pipe systems continues to grow, we are looking for a Specialist Engineer to strengthen our global Pipe System Design discipline in Brazil, Petrobras portfolio support, customer design-basis alignment, technical interface management, and continuous improvement of engineering practices.

Your New Role

As a Specialist Engineer – Pipe System Design, you will play a key technical role supporting project execution for Petrobras and international projects.

As a technical reference within the Pipe System Design discipline, you will contribute to the development, alignment and continuous improvement of design methodologies and tools. You will help ensure that engineering work is performed consistently, in accordance with applicable methodologies, standards and internal procedures.

You will act as a knowledge hub within the Pipe System Design organization, supporting engineers and relevant stakeholders in technical problem-solving, methodology application and design decisions. You will also contribute to the communication and implementation of new methodologies and tools across the organization.

You will support the translation of business and project needs into robust engineering solutions while helping improve technical consistency, knowledge sharing and value creation within System Design discipline.

You will also support technical communication with customers and third parties on Pipe System Design topics, including participation in internal and external design reviews.

You will be part of a global and diverse engineering organization, working on technically challenging offshore projects in a collaborative and international environment.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities may include:

• Providing technical guidance to engineers and relevant stakeholders on Pipe System Design topics.
• Maintaining and developing customer design-basis documentation, ensuring that assumptions, product requirements, methodologies and execution constraints are properly captured and communicated.
• Participating in discussions, technical reviews, design reviews, risk assessments, customer meetings and internal engineering forums.
• Reviewing engineering analyses, technical documentation, design reports and technical clarifications related to Pipe System Design.
• Supporting the technical execution of projects and contributing to the resolution of project-related challenges.
• Supporting the development, consolidation, maintenance and continuous improvement of Pipe System Design methodologies, tools and technical practices.
• Promoting alignment and consistency of Pipe System Design practices across projects and portfolios.
• Acting as chair or technical contributor in relevant discipline working groups.
• Promoting engineering quality, technical consistency, compliance with applicable standards and adherence to internal procedures.
• Supporting knowledge sharing, technical development, mentoring and the implementation of best practices within the Pipe System Design discipline.You will be part of a global and diverse engineering organization, working on major offshore developments in a collaborative and international environment.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you have:

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong experience in offshore engineering, flexible pipe systems, subsea engineering, or related technical disciplines.
• Experience supporting project execution for major offshore customers.
• Experience with Petrobras projects, requirements, specifications, or technical interfaces would be highly valuable.
• A solid understanding of flexible pipe system design methodologies and dynamic analysis.
• Good understanding of flexible pipe manufacturing processes and associated technical interfaces.
• Experience contributing to design guides, engineering methodologies, standardization initiatives, lessons learned, or continuous improvement activities.
• The ability to interpret customer requirements and translate them into clear engineering assumptions, design-basis inputs, and product-related requirements.
• The ability to support technical alignment and interface management across engineering, manufacturing, product, project, commercial, and supply chain teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to provide technical leadership, guidance, and support to multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
• The ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multicultural, and international environment.
• Availability for occasional travel.
