Senior Transportation Engineer

GPI is seeking a motivated and talented Transportation Engineer to join our growing team in Shelton, Connecticut. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of transportation projects, including bridge rehabilitation and replacement, highway design, roadway improvements, traffic engineering studies, intersection enhancements, and multimodal transportation initiatives throughout Connecticut and the Northeast.

What You'll Do

• Design and develop transportation infrastructure projects, including bridges, highways, roadways, and traffic systems.
• Prepare engineering calculations, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports.
• Utilize design software such as MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Synchro, HCS, or similar platforms.
• Coordinate with project managers, clients, regulatory agencies, and multidisciplinary design teams.
• Assist with project planning, permitting, construction support, and field investigations.
• Participate in client meetings and contribute to business development initiatives.
• Ensure project deliverables meet quality, schedule, and budget objectives.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 3+ years of transportation engineering experience.
• Experience in one or more of the following areas:
• Bridge design and analysis
• Highway and roadway design
• Traffic engineering and traffic studies
• Experience with DOT projects preferred, particularly CTDOT.
• Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification preferred; Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
