About the Role

We're looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to own end-to-end mechanical design of components and systems for our electric smart cars. You'll work from concept through detailed 3D models and drawings, supporting prototype builds and validation testing along the way. This role sits at the intersection of electrical, manufacturing, and industrial design teams — ensuring every component you touch integrates cleanly and performs safely, reliably, and manufacturably.

What You'll Do

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems for Vayve's electric vehicles — from concept to detailed 3D models and drawings (Autodesk Fusion 360)
• Perform design calculations, tolerance and stack-up analyses, and basic structural/thermal analysis
• Collaborate with electrical, manufacturing, and industrial design teams to ensure system integration, performance, and safety
• Review supplier and vendor designs for compliance and manufacturability
• Support prototype fabrication, fit/function checks, and validation builds
• Iterate designs based on test data, validation results, and cross-functional feedback
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and BOMs
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of products and processes

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline
• Strong core fundamentals in mechanical engineering and machine design
• Design-focused skill set — design engineering, product design
• Proficiency in CAD tools for 3D modeling and detailed drafting (Fusion 360 preferred)
• Automotive or mobility-related product development experience, especially EVs, is a plus
• Exposure to design for manufacturability (DFM), material selection, and basic structural/thermal analysis is an advantage
• Ability to work on-site in Pune, collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
