Our client is a specialist engineering consultancy delivering water engineering and infrastructure solutions for the mining and resources sector across Western Australia.


They specialise in the design and optimisation of mine water systems, including pumping systems, pump stations, pipelines, borefields and process water infrastructure.


Position


Senior Mechanical Engineer (Mining Water)


We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join the company's growing Perth team.


The role will focus primarily on the mechanical design of water transfer and conveyance systems for mining operations, taking projects from concept and feasibility through to detailed design.


Alongside technical design, you will also support the project engineering and delivery of water infrastructure projects, working directly with clients, suppliers and multidisciplinary engineering teams.


Key Responsibilities


  • Mechanical design of mining water transfer and conveyance systems.
  • Design pumping systems, pump stations, pipelines, pipework and associated equipment.
  • Develop projects from concept and feasibility through to detailed design.
  • Prepare calculations, specifications, datasheets, P&IDs and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate civil, structural, electrical, controls and drafting disciplines.
  • Support project engineering, procurement, suppliers and project deliverables.
  • Liaise directly with mining clients, OEMs, suppliers and contractors.
  • Provide technical support through fabrication, installation and commissioning.


Requirements


  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
  • Strong mechanical design experience within mining, water or resources.
  • Experience designing pumps, pipelines and water transfer systems.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and hydraulic water systems.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering designs.
  • Practical engineering mindset with strong communication skills.
  • CPEng or working towards accreditation is desirable.
