The Role
Responsibilities
The purpose of this role is to support the establishment of BG&E Minerals and its growth into the Mining and Minerals sector within Western Australia by assuming a range or responsibilities such as:
- Undertake detailed analysis and structural design to ensure safety, compliance, and constructability
- Assess the behaviour and performance of materials under construction-stage conditions
- Develop and advise on construction methodologies and sequencing plans in consultation with site teams and contractors
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and consultants to deliver coordinated solutions
- Review technical reports, drawings, and design calculations for quality and accuracy
- Prepare / Assist with the tendering and winning of work
- Liaise with clients, local authorities, and other project stakeholders as required for the delivery of projects
- Prepare and review technical reports
- Help Identify and manage technical and commercial risks on behalf of BG&E and our clients
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and actively participate in interdisciplinary workshops and risk assessments as required
- Ensure that all work is undertaken in accordance with the appropriate legislation, relevant standards, corporate requirements and systems
- BEng or higher in Civil/Structural Engineering
- Relevant industry experience (3-5 years as a structural engineer post-graduation)
- Solid understanding of Australian standards and construction safety principles
- Skilled in structural analysis software and able to produce clear, accurate documentation
- Proven experience in developing practical, buildable solutions under site constraints
- Strong communication and coordination skills, particularly with site teams and contractors
- A proactive, hands-on approach to solving engineering challenges
