Lead Electrical Engineer

Our client is a fast-growing medical robotics company based in Westchester County, NY, building next-generation electro-mechanical systems that automate high-precision processes in clinical diagnostics. ISO-certified and backed by a seasoned team of engineers, scientists, and healthcare innovators, they are redefining what's possible in automated medical device technology — and they're just getting started.

The Opportunity:

A rare chance to own electrical architecture end-to-end on FDA-regulated devices that are already in market and scaling. You'll be a senior technical voice across hardware, embedded systems, and cross-functional integration — taking designs from concept to production in a company where engineering decisions genuinely move the needle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and validation of electrical systems for complex electromechanical medical devices
  • Own PCB design and review — schematic capture, component selection, layout oversight, and design for manufacturability (DFM)
  • Design and document wiring diagrams, cable assemblies, and electrical harnesses
  • Develop power distribution, control systems, and signal integrity solutions
  • Collaborate with mechanical, software, firmware, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure seamless system integration
  • Support embedded hardware development and interface with firmware/software on requirements and debugging
  • Drive electrical design through prototyping, testing, verification, and production release
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues at the system, board, and component levels
  • Author and maintain technical documentation including schematics, test plans, reports, and DHF artifacts
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable safety, EMC, and regulatory standards for medical devices
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior electrical engineers
  • Support supplier selection, vendor communication, and external design reviews

Qualifications-What You Bring:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline; advanced degree a plus
  • 7+ years building hardware for sophisticated electromechanical systems
  • Deep fluency in both analog and digital circuit design
  • Hands-on PCB design experience — you know what good layout looks like and can defend your choices in review
  • Track record of bringing electrical designs through prototyping, verification, and into production
  • Solid instincts for signal integrity, motor control, and low-noise power design
  • Experience working within regulated development environments with formal documentation requirements
  • A collaborator who can translate between hardware and software teams without losing anything in translation
  • Experience leading projects and working with a team of EE’s to deliver projects timely
