The Opportunity

An established Building Services consultancy is looking to appoint an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer to join its growing London team.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects across the commercial, residential, hotel and student accommodation sectors, supporting the delivery of innovative, sustainable and technically robust electrical designs from concept through to completion.

You'll work alongside experienced Mechanical, Electrical, Public Health and Sustainability Engineers within a collaborative consultancy environment, gaining exposure to a wide range of projects while continuing your professional development.

The Role

As an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer, you will be involved in all aspects of electrical building services design, including:

• Producing electrical designs across RIBA Stages 1-5.
• Designing lighting, small power and low voltage electrical systems.
• Carrying out electrical calculations and preparing technical specifications.
• Assisting with power distribution design and system coordination.
• Coordinating with Mechanical, Public Health and other design disciplines.
• Attending design meetings and supporting project delivery.
• Working closely with senior engineers to deliver high-quality technical solutions.
• Contributing to sustainable and cost-effective engineering designs.

About You

The successful candidate is likely to have:

• Experience working within a Building Services consultancy.
• A solid understanding of UK Building Regulations and relevant British Standards.
• Experience delivering projects through all RIBA design stages, ideally Stages 1-5.
• Exposure to sectors such as commercial offices, residential, hotels and student accommodation.
• Experience using industry software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Amtech, Elec OM, Dialux and/or Relux.
• An Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering degree (or equivalent).
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Progress towards IEng or CEng status would be advantageous.
