Position Overview

The Vice President of Business Development will lead strategic growth initiatives for the Women’s Football Alliance (WFA) across partnerships, flag football expansion, licensing, retail operations, media, and revenue generation. This executive leadership role is responsible for driving national and international growth while positioning the WFA as the premier women’s football league in the world.

The ideal candidate is a visionary and operational leader with experience in sports business, sponsorships, merchandising, event development, and brand expansion. This position will oversee the development of scalable business opportunities that increase league visibility, fan engagement, participation, and long-term revenue.

Business Development & Partnerships

• Develop and execute comprehensive business growth strategies for the WFA

• Secure national and global corporate partnerships, sponsorships, and strategic alliances

• Lead negotiations for high-value sponsorship, licensing, and media agreements

• Build integrated partnership packages across broadcast, digital, events, and retail.

• Manage and expand relationships with sponsors, investors, media partners, and key stakeholders

• Oversee daily operation at WFA onsite store.

Events & Media

• Oversee national events including championships, showcases, camps, clinics, and fan experiences

• Collaborate with marketing and media teams to maximize exposure and partner ROI

• Support media, broadcast, and distribution relationships across television and streaming platforms

• Assist in creating innovative fan engagement and revenue-generating initiatives

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of experience in sports business, partnerships, sponsorships, retail, licensing, or business development
• Proven success in driving revenue growth and scaling sports or entertainment properties
• Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills
• Experience managing partnerships, events, and operational initiatives simultaneously
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and execute strategic initiatives
• Strong understanding of media rights, sponsorship valuation, and brand integration
• Highly organized with strong leadership and operational execution abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with professional sports leagues or emerging sports properties
• Existing network within sports, media, retail, or corporate partnership sectors
• Background in football, women’s sports, or amateur sports development
• Experience with retail distribution, merchandising, or e-commerce operations
