🚀 The Opportunity
Based in Dublin 8, you'll have a broad technical role covering the development and design of solar projects, from early-stage concepts through to delivery.
You'll work closely with clients, suppliers, contractors and internal engineering teams, providing technical expertise while helping develop bespoke renewable energy solutions for commercial and industrial sites.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
Design and develop solar PV projects from concept through to delivery
Produce solar farm layouts, mounting systems, string designs and AC/DC wiring designs
Specify inverters, transformers and associated electrical equipment
Support grid connection and interconnection requirements
Prepare detailed engineering and design documentation using PVCase, AutoCAD, BIM and other CAD tools
Carry out energy engineering evaluations and detailed technical analysis
Develop project designs, costings, budgets and technical proposals
Liaise with technology suppliers, manufacturers, contractors and clients
Attend project sites and support technical delivery
Identify and mitigate project risks
Ensure designs meet relevant standards, regulations and operational requirements
Keep up to date with emerging renewable energy technologies and market developments
Provide technical guidance to engineering colleagues and senior management
🎯 Experience & Background
Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
Strong experience delivering solar PV projects
Proven experience with solar design, including layouts, strings, AC/DC systems, inverters and grid connections
Strong experience with AutoCAD/BIM applications, with PVCase experience highly beneficial
Excellent analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills
Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Proven ability to manage workload, priorities and deadlines
Strong track record of delivering solar projects to a high standard
10+ years' experience would be an advantage
Full driving licence advantageous
Entitled to work in Ireland
