Design Engineer – Fire Protection & ELV Services

We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer – Fire Protection & ELV Services to lead the design, coordination, and implementation of fire protection systems and ELV (Extra Low Voltage) systems for commercial, industrial, and Data Center (DC) projects. The candidate should have strong expertise in system design, drawings, calculations, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with relevant standards and project requirements. Design for air cooled, DCLC, LIC expertise.

Key Responsibilities

Fire Protection System Design

• Prepare concept, schematic, and detailed designs for fire protection systems including:
• Fire Detection & Alarm Systems (FDAS)
• Fire Suppression Systems
• Sprinkler Systems & Pre action systems.
• Gas Suppression Systems (FM200, Novec, Inergen, etc.)
• Hydrant & Hose Reel Systems
• Perform hydraulic calculations for sprinkler and hydrant networks.
• Prepare fire protection layouts, riser diagrams, and equipment sizing.
• Ensure designs comply with NFPA, NBC, FM Global, and local authority regulations.

• Design and develop layouts for ELV systems, including:
• CCTV Surveillance Systems
• Access Control Systems
• Public Address / Voice Evacuation Systems
• Structured Cabling Systems
• BMS / IBMS integration
• Intrusion Detection Systems
• CPMS
• WLD, RRS, FLD
• DCIM & EPMS
• Prepare schematics, single-line diagrams, and cable routing drawings.
• Define system architecture and equipment specifications, knowledge of 7layers of security.

• Design fire suppression systems specifically for Data Centers.
• Ensure compliance with TIA-942, Uptime Institute, and NFPA standards.
• Coordinate with MEP, IT, and infrastructure teams for DC environments.
• Design VESDA / Early Warning Smoke Detection Systems.

• Prepare/Review design reports, BOQs, specifications, and tender documents.
• Conduct/Review load calculations and equipment selection.
• Prepare/Review technical submittals and compliance documentation.

• Coordinate with architectural, mechanical, electrical, and structural teams, consultant, PMC, site execution teams.
• Participate in design review meetings and technical discussions.
• Support project teams during installation, testing, and commissioning for technical resolutions.

• Ensure designs meet international and local standards such as:
• NFPA
• NBC
• UL/FM
• TIA-942/Uptime
• Local Fire Authority Requirements

• CFPS (Certified Fire Protection Specialist) – Optional but advantageous

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good understanding of Data Center infrastructure
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary design environments
• Strong communication and coordination skills
• Attention to technical details and safety compliance

• Experience in Hyperscale / Enterprise Data Center projects
• Exposure to BIM-based design environments
• Experience in international design standards
