Engineer – Product Development | Product Deliverables
Position Summary
We are looking for a Product Development Engineer with 2–4 years of relevant engineering experience to support the preparation and implementation of product deliverables for manufacturing.
This position will work closely with Design, Manufacturing, and other cross-functional teams to translate customer and engineering requirements into manufacturing information, including BOMs, 2D drawings, process documentation, and engineering changes, ensuring accurate and timely implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and translate customer and engineering information into manufacturing drawings and BOMs.
- Support the implementation and follow-up of Engineering Changes (ECN).
- Review and approve engineering documentation according to customer and manufacturing requirements.
- Lead or participate in cross-functional design reviews.
- Maintain close communication with Manufacturing to resolve technical questions and engineering change implementation issues.
- Support component selection and material procurement activities for new or modified designs.
- Determine technical solutions considering manufacturing requirements and product functionality.
- Support manufacturing build events as required.
- Perform root cause analysis using methodologies such as 5 Why and 8D.
- Support continuous improvement, cost reduction and engineering initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
- 2–4 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably within product development or manufacturing environments.
- Experience interpreting and working with BOMs, engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of 2D drawing tools and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of CATIA V5, AutoCAD, NX, Harness XC or similar CAD tools is preferred.
- Understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Vehicle Assembly principles.
- Familiarity with engineering change/release processes and customer engineering systems.
- Knowledge of DFMEA and Design Verification Process (DVP).
- Strong problem-solving, communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Six Sigma or equivalent problem-solving certification is a plus.
