About The Role
Sr. Design Engineer professional assembles documentation packages, performs some calculations with regard to technical design, and develops detailed drawings using relevant tools.
Key Responsibilities
As a Sr. Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Own mechanical designs, assemblies, and equipment layouts.
- Lead design activities from concept through production implementation.
- Develop and review 3D models and drawings using Creo Parametric.
- Ensure accuracy of drawings, specifications, and bills of materials.
- Manage product revisions and engineering changes in Windchill.
- Maintain accurate part and BOM data within SAP.
- Make technical decisions based on performance, risk, and manufacturability.
- Apply GD&T, tolerance analysis, and DFM principles.
- Lead design reviews and resolve technical issues.
- Drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Coordinate deliverables with manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and testing.
- Manage priorities, risks, commitments, and delivery dates.
- Provide technical guidance, peer reviews, and mentoring.
- Identify and implement design and process improvements.
- Translate product and business needs into HVAC design solutions.
- Lead design changes from definition through production release.
- Ensure design quality, manufacturability, cost, and schedule performance.
- Serve as a technical reference for the engineering team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related Engineering.
- Five or more years of mechanical product design experience.
- Experience leading design activities or engineering changes.
- Experience with commercial HVAC or similar engineered equipment.
- Strong knowledge of parametric CAD systems, preferably Creo Parametric.
- Experience creating assemblies and production drawings.
- Experience with PLM systems, preferably Windchill.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerances, sheet metal, and manufacturing.
- Strong technical judgment and independent decision-making skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional technical discussions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
