GraniteFuel Engineering is a fast growing Canadian company that provides equipment and service for sustainable energy industry, designs and develops innovative fuel conditioning systems (FCS) for industrial engines fueled by wellhead, landfill or digester gas. GraniteFuel’s unique fuel conditioning solutions are custom designed for each application to provide consistent and efficient reduction of fuel contaminants.


With rapid business growth, GraniteFuel is adding a Mechanical Design Engineer to the Product Development (DEV) Team.


Responsibilities

  • 3D modeling and drawing (General layout, P&ID) for pipe skid with SolidWorks and AutoCAD/Draftsight;
  • Select/size pipe fittings, hardware, valves, pumps, blowers, heat exchanger and create Bill of Material;
  • Select and size instrumentation such as flow meter, pressure/temperature transmitter, level switch, etc..
  • Collaborate and supervise pipe skid fabrication and assembling in shop;
  • Travel internationally (mainly US) to service and commission new and existing systems. Individual must work well independently, as well as in an office / team environment.


Education and Experience Requirements

  • Engineering degree from a recognized university (Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or other related);
  • Very proficient at using CAD Software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) to produce 3D models(involving a lot of piping/valves) and drawings (layouts/BOM, P&ID etc);
  • Understanding the principle of heat transfer and heat exchanger, fluid mechanics and flow control equipment;
  • Minimum 3~5 years design experience in Canada/USA;
  • Hands on skills to install and adjust instrumentations such as solenoid valves, pressure transmitter, thermal couple, flow meter;
  • Basic knowledge of PLC and AC/DC circuits;
  • Good communication skills to make service schedule, and keep working relationships with customers and contractors;
  • Keep clear records of service and write technical reports as well as submitting improvements of equipment and methods of work;
  • Proficient in the use of computers: Ms word, Excel, MS office, MMS software;
  • Plan and manage project progress;
  • Valid and clean driver license required.
