Our Bridge team is growing, and they are looking for a full-time Engineering Designer to join their team at our Toronto office. This is a mentored role with a firm target to develop the right candidate within an established group mentoring and collaborative environment.
Duties
- Assist in calculations for design of bridges, draft structural plans, assist in writing structural design reports, calculate quantities, develop cost estimates, create and manage structural details, and work in conjunction with CADD drafters to develop structural bridge drawings.
- Measure, assess and sketch structural layout and details for new and existing bridges and other transportation structures.
- Prepare detailed design calculations and planning reports.
- Carry out Condition Assessments and structural visual inspections.
- Project coordination
- Inspection and Contract Administration of structural projects, when required.
- Other tasks as assigned and appropriate for this position.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution is required.
- 0-4 years of relevant experience with a focus or interest in the design of heavy civil structures is preferred.
- Registration as an Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or eligibility for registration.
- Familiarity with CSI Bridge, Midas, AutoCAD, MicroStation, SAP2000, FB Pier, L-Pile, Conspan and other industry related software would be an asset.
- Excellent command of the English language and the ability to communicate proficiently, both verbally and in writing.
- Strong sense of initiative and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
