About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Hardware Development Engineer to design, develop, test, and troubleshoot advanced hardware for industrial automation and control products. This role covers the full hardware development lifecycle, from circuit design and PCB development through prototype bring-up, validation, EMC testing, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop analog, digital, and mixed-signal electronic hardware.
- Create and review schematics and PCB designs using Altium and/or Mentor Graphics.
- Develop hardware for industrial automation, control systems, industrial PCs, HMI, and related products.
- Bring up, debug, and troubleshoot hardware prototypes using laboratory test equipment.
- Perform hardware verification, functional testing, EMC/EMI, ESD, and immunity testing.
- Support Ethernet performance/compliance and regulatory testing.
- Prepare engineering documentation, test plans, and technical reports.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Support design simulation and test automation where applicable.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to hardware engineering best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on hardware/electronics product development experience.
- Experience with analog and/or digital circuit design.
- Experience with PCB design, schematic capture, and circuit analysis.
- Experience with Altium and/or Mentor Graphics.
- Strong hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other electronic test equipment.
- Experience troubleshooting hardware prototypes in a laboratory environment.
- Strong communication and technical documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industrial automation, PLC, HMI, industrial PC, automotive, aerospace, medical, or other regulated product experience.
- EMC/EMI, ESD, immunity, or compliance testing experience.
- Knowledge of IEC 61508, IEC 61000, functional safety, or related standards.
- Experience with microprocessors, digital logic, CPLDs/FPGAs, analog circuits, and DC-power conversion.
- Python experience for hardware test automation.
- Experience with Ethernet testing or compliance.
- Agile product development experience.
