The Role
We are currently seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Rail & Metro team in Melbourne. Working with a specialist team of Engineers, Drafters and Project Managers, you will be responsible for technical design input, co-ordination and project delivery activities across rail infrastructure projects locally and nationally.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating the structural design and documentation for various rail projects locally and nationally
- Undertaking structural design components using relative software, including MIDAS, Space Gass, Autodesk and Microstran, to name a few.
- Reviewing structural designs, ensuring that analysis and design tasks undertaken meet appropriate technical standards and the requirements of the client and SMEC
- Production of engineering reports and supporting tender proposals
- Proactively collaborating with team members, contributors and stakeholders to maintain quality, timeliness and coordination of project deliverables
- Actively contribute to the technical success of projects and the team
- Relevant Engineering qualifications – with a focus in Structural Engineering
- 6 years’ design experience in rail infrastructure projects
- Demonstrated design experience using relevant Structural software
- Possesses project management and hands-on experience, encompassing administrative, commercial and technical aspects
- Strong understanding of Australian codes and standards
- Submit technical reports of a standard requiring minimal correction; and provide final review of reports
- Able to work on own initiative and in a team environment
