Electrical Engineer (Mid‑Level)

Location: New York City (Hybrid)

Your New Company

A long‑established, mid‑sized engineering consultancy is looking for a mid‑level Electrical Engineer to join its New York City office. The firm has multiple offices in the region and a strong reputation for delivering high‑quality building systems design across commercial, institutional, and mixed‑use projects.

You’ll be part of a collaborative team that includes mechanical, electrical, and energy engineers working closely across locations. The company places a strong emphasis on technical excellence, energy‑efficient design, and continuous professional development.

Your New Role

As a mid‑level Electrical Engineer, you will work under an experienced senior engineer while collaborating with teams across both offices. The role offers two growth paths depending on your strengths and goals:

a technical path focused on design leadership, or

a client‑facing path focused on project management.

You’ll work on a diverse portfolio of projects rather than being limited to one sector. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include:

  • Designing electrical systems such as power distribution, lighting, emergency/UPS systems, and fire alarms
  • Conducting field investigations and surveys
  • Producing drawings, specifications, and technical documents
  • Supporting construction administration
  • Coordinating with architects, contractors, design partners, and clients
  • Collaborating with senior engineers and cross‑disciplinary teams

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 4–8 years of U.S. experience in electrical building systems design
  • Experience with an engineering consultancy or contractor focused on design
  • Strong knowledge of building electrical systems
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit experience is a plus
  • FE/EIT preferred
  • LEED accreditation or interest is a plus
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

What You’ll Get in Return

You will join a stable, supportive firm that invests in its people and encourages long‑term career growth. You can expect:

  • Competitive salary with overtime pay
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Disability and life insurance
  • 401(k) with employer contributions
  • Profit sharing
  • Tuition assistance
  • Ongoing training and professional development
  • Paid vacation, holidays, and personal time
  • A flexible hybrid schedule (3 days in office / 2 remote)
  • Extra in‑office support during onboarding
