As a Fire Protection Engineer I in our Madison office, you will help us empower our clients to achieve energy-efficient building solutions, save global environments, and create a better, greener future for all.
Why We Need You
Within our team framework, you will initially work with and be mentored by experienced engineers and designers. Your initial assignments will include performing calculations, determining system sizing and layouts, selecting equipment, completing field surveys, and preparing shop drawings. As you gain project experience, you will take on a greater role in writing specifications, participating in project meetings with clients and other consultants, and supporting construction-phase work. We encourage you to learn and take on additional responsibility as soon as you are able; we believe that everyone who joins AEI is a potential future leader of our firm.
Expertise Of Our Most Successful Fire Protection Engineer I
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Aerospace, Architectural, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Fire Protection or Mechanical).
- 2+ years of experience in fire suppression systems, fire alarm systems, and clean agent systems required.
- Experience in computer operation for engineering calculation programs and ability to learn computer-aided drafting/BIM software.
- Understanding of applicable design codes, design standards and specification requirements, and ability to interpret them.
- Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam (FE).
- AutoCAD experience
- Revit Experience
- Navisworks Experience
- Strong spoken and written communications skills.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Quick technical comprehension and motivation focused on client outcomes.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Effective working individually and within team environments.
