Drilling & Completions Project Lead – Nigeria

We are currently looking for two experienced Drilling & Completions Project Leads to join a long-term project in Nigeria.

This is a 3-year, office-based assignment, working Monday to Friday, with one position based in Lagos and one position based in Port Harcourt.

The successful candidates will be responsible for the technical and commercial delivery of drilling fluids, completion fluids and surface solutions projects. You will be involved throughout the full project lifecycle, from initial planning and system recommendations through to execution, operational support and post-well review.

Working closely with client representatives, you will provide day-to-day technical support and ensure effective wellbore management practices and processes are implemented across the project. You will also provide leadership and support to field-based personnel, ensuring a high standard of technical delivery and service quality.

Project Details

Location: Lagos or Port Harcourt, Nigeria

Positions: 2 – one in each location

Duration: 3-year project

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday

Experience: Minimum 10 years' drilling & completions experience

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of project planning and execution
• Provide day-to-day technical support to clients and operational teams
• Develop and implement drilling and completion system recommendations
• Support drilling fluids, completion fluids and wellbore management activities
• Develop and implement effective work processes and wellbore management practices
• Oversee and support Field Service Representatives and Service Supervisors
• Provide technical leadership, training and mentoring to field personnel
• Oversee post-well audits, reporting and project reviews
• Ensure all relevant wellbore construction information is accurately delivered to the client
• Maintain strong communication and working relationships with client representatives
• Support the financial and technical performance of assigned projects
• Ensure projects are delivered to a high standard of quality, service and operational performance

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 10 years' experience within drilling and completions
• Strong technical knowledge of drilling fluids and completion fluids
• Good understanding of wellbore management and well construction processes
• Previous experience managing or leading technical projects
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills
• Experience supervising and mentoring technical and field-based personnel
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project budgets
• Degree-level qualification preferred, although extensive relevant industry experience will be considered
