Job Title: Wells Advisor III
Location: Lagos
Job Description
- We are seeking an experienced Wells Advisor III to provide technical leadership and advisory support for drilling and completion operations.
- The successful candidate will play a key role in mentoring engineering teams, driving operational excellence, and ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of drilling programs.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to drilling and completion engineers.
- Oversee drilling programs and ensure consistency of practices across multiple rig lines.
- Interface with Business Units and Affiliates on logistics, environmental, regulatory, procurement, and cost stewardship activities.
- Lead long-term performance improvement initiatives and engineering studies.
- Drive continuous improvement in drilling and completion operations.
- Participate in vendor clarifications, Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), and package acceptance.
- Review and respond to specification deviation requests.
- Review engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Address human factors engineering and ensure the safety of personnel and equipment in collaboration with Topsides and Operations & Maintenance teams.
- Support the development and review of commissioning and System Integration Test (SIT) procedures.
- Provide technical support during construction and commissioning activities.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Civil Engineering preferred).
- Extensive experience in drilling rig development, including FEED, detailed design, construction, and commissioning.
- Proven experience in construction site management, preferably with drilling well site design.
- Strong analytical, technical, and computing skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage work independently.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary teams across multiple stakeholders.
- Knowledge of applicable industry standards and codes, including API, ASME, ANSI, SAE, ASTM, ABS, DNV, SOLAS, and IMO.
- Sound understanding of offshore oil and gas regulations.
- Adaptable and committed to continuous improvement.
