Your Responsibilities
- End-to-end project design: Manage projects from conceptual and detailed system design through permitting, site visits, construction support, and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements
- Engineering & project planning: Develop energy production models, schedules, cost estimates, budgets, bills of materials, scopes of work, standards, and supplier quotes
- Technical documentation & system design: Create and maintain SLDs, physical layouts, electrical schematics, specifications, and other engineering documentation, while coordinating internal and external designers
- BESS safety & grid integration: Ensure compliance with NFPA 855, UL 9540, UL 9540A, and local fire requirements; develop solar/BESS interconnection requirements and EMS/BMS/SCADA communication protocols such as DNP3 and Modbus
- Battery performance & technology strategy: Analyze battery degradation and SoH, develop capacity augmentation strategies, and stay informed on BESS technologies, costs, suppliers, applications, and market trends
- Construction, testing & commissioning: Support construction management and supervise project execution, including FAT, SAT, capacity testing, commissioning, quality assurance, and schedule adherence
- Cross-functional & stakeholder leadership: Coordinate engineering consultants and specialized contractors, support customers and business development, evaluate vendor proposals, collaborate on procurement/project controls, and develop O&M guidelines and continuous improvement initiatives
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in utility-scale BESS industry (stand-alone and hybridizations) and technologies (Batteries, PCS, EMS, SCADA, BMS)
- Experience participating in different phases of the BESS project lifecycle: development, engineering, construction, commissioning, and operation
- Experience managing production/sensitivity analysis of models and BESS engineering (drawings, calculations, technical specifications, etc)
- Strong project coordination and documentation skills
- Good understanding of MV/HV grid connection and European grid requirements
- Experience working with EPC contractors, supplies, consultants and lenders
- Experience AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite, Homer Pro or PLEXOS is a plus
- Professional fluency in Spanish and English both verbal and written
