Role Description The Mechanical and Commissioning Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Kyiv, Ukraine. This position is responsible for supporting mechanical design reviews, coordinating equipment installation, and performing commissioning activities for power generation projects. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and interpreting technical documentation, supervising mechanical assembly, conducting inspections and functional tests, and troubleshooting mechanical and system-level issues. The engineer collaborates closely with project managers, OEM representatives, and field technicians to ensure safe, efficient, and timely project delivery. The role also involves preparing reports, maintaining documentation, and supporting ongoing maintenance planning for commissioned equipment.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering, with practical experience in industrial or power generation projects.
- Ability to perform Maintenance and reliability-focused activities on mechanical systems and rotating equipment.
- Proficiency with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for interpreting and reviewing mechanical drawings and layouts.
- Experience with Inspection, testing, and quality control procedures for mechanical and electromechanical equipment.
- Background in Automotive or similar heavy machinery environments, demonstrating hands-on mechanical skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Knowledge of commissioning procedures, safety standards, and relevant industrial regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation in English; additional language skills are an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively on-site in cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed and adapt to dynamic field conditions.
