Role Description This is a full-time Civil Engineer role in a hybrid work arrangement, based in WP Kuala Lumpur with flexibility for some work-from-home days. The Civil Engineer will be responsible for preparing civil engineering designs and drawings, including site layout, roadworks, drainage, and utility coordination for building and infrastructure projects. Daily tasks include conducting technical calculations, assisting in planning and design reviews, preparing reports and design documentation, and ensuring compliance with local codes, regulations, and industry standards. The role involves coordinating with project managers, other engineers, and external stakeholders, attending meetings, resolving technical issues on site, and supporting tender preparation and submission. The Civil Engineer will also help monitor project progress, contribute to quality assurance, and participate in continuous improvement of design processes and tools.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Civil Engineering and Civil Engineering Design, with ability to apply engineering principles to practical project solutions.
- Experience working as Civil Engineers on infrastructure or building projects, including coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
- Skills in Planning for civil works, including site development, layout, and integration with overall project schedules and constraints.
- Knowledge of Stormwater Management, drainage design, and related hydraulic/hydrologic analysis using relevant standards and software.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution.
- Familiarity with local codes, regulations, and industry standards applicable to civil and infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency with common engineering and drafting tools (e.g., AutoCAD or similar), and basic competency with spreadsheets and calculation software.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to document work clearly and collaborate effectively.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a hybrid environment, managing time and multiple tasks responsibly.
- Professional registration or progress toward registration with relevant engineering bodies is an advantage.
