Electrical Designer


Salary: $90,000 - $115,000 (Based on Experience and Qualifications)

Work Location: In-Office or Hybrid

Employment Type: Full-Time


About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer/Designer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical engineering and design for commercial and residential construction projects. This individual will be responsible for leading projects from concept through construction, mentoring junior staff, and maintaining strong relationships with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.


This position requires a motivated professional who thrives in a collaborative environment, communicates effectively, and possesses strong technical expertise in building electrical systems.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field (preferred).
  • Passed FE Exam (preferred).
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in electrical engineering/design.
  • Proficiency in power distribution and lighting design for commercial and residential construction projects.
  • Experience with both new construction and renovation/addition projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to mentor and lead junior engineers, designers, and support staff.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Proficiency in Revit


Technical Skills

Candidates must be capable of handling all aspects of electrical engineering related to the building industry, including:

  • Power Distribution
  • Analysis of Existing Systems
  • Emergency Generator Design
  • Lighting Design & Controls
  • Site Lighting & Photometric Analysis
  • Fire Alarm and Security Systems
  • Sound and Telephone Systems
  • Revit Modeling and Documentation


Responsibilities

  • Manage electrical engineering services on projects from start to finish.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and review electrical construction documents.
  • Develop and edit project specifications.
  • Review electrical product shop drawings and submittals.
  • Review and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Conduct project site visits.
  • Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, and internal project teams.
  • Lead and mentor support staff
  • Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Maintain professional client relationships and provide exceptional customer service.
