Project Engineer – Manufacturing
Are you an engineer who enjoys taking projects from concept through prototyping and production? This position offers the opportunity to work directly with manufacturing, maintenance, quality, and product-development teams to improve equipment, processes, plant layouts, and multiple product lines.
What You’ll Do
- Support engineering projects from concept through prototype, testing, and production.
- Work with manufacturing and maintenance to reduce scrap, material usage, and equipment downtime.
- Support factory-automation projects and changes to equipment and processes.
- Develop and maintain product drawings using SolidWorks 2D and 3D.
- Maintain project documentation, engineering standards, and document controls.
- Improve production layouts, material flow, manufacturing methods, and plant efficiency.
- Support new-product development and assist with packaging design.
- Help ensure appropriate quality-control methods are in place.
- Perform capacity analysis and recommend new or upgraded equipment.
- Evaluate operational performance and implement process improvements.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Industrial or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- At least three years of manufacturing engineering experience.
- SolidWorks 2D and 3D experience.
- Ability and willingness to work directly on the manufacturing floor.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and component selection.
- Experience with process improvement, equipment efficiency, scrap reduction, or downtime reduction.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Effective problem-solving, communication, organization, and project-prioritization skills.
- Experience with prototyping, testing, and reporting results is preferred.
- Exposure to factory automation, packaging design, capacity planning, or quality control is helpful.
