Structural Engineer

A fast-growing energy technology company is seeking a Structural Engineer to support the design and development of advanced flow battery systems. This role will focus on the structural integrity, manufacturability, and compliance of large-scale tank systems and their supporting frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed 3D models and 2D fabrication drawings for tanks, frames, and structural components using SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, chemical, and manufacturing teams to ensure structural designs meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Conduct tolerance stack-ups, material selection, and basic structural analysis to validate designs.
- Prepare clean, simulation-ready models to support FEA and CFD analysis.
- Maintain drawing standards, BOMs, and revision control within PLM systems.
- Interface with suppliers and fabricators to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
- Participate in design reviews, prototyping, and field testing of structural systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in structural CAD design, ideally involving tanks, vessels, or industrial equipment.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar CAD platforms.
- Familiarity with ASME codes, welding standards, and structural steel design.
- Strong understanding of GD&T, DFM/DFA principles, and material properties.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience designing pressure vessels or fluid containment systems.
- Exposure to renewable energy, battery systems, or chemical process equipment.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication, welding, or field installation.
