About OneSec
OneSec is making food delivery 3 times faster and 10 times cheaper, by developing small AI powered delivery drones. Visit our website for more info: www.OneSec.com
Role Overview
OneSec has developed an experimental drone that can beat the world record for longest ever drone flight. Achieving 5 hours 10 minutes of flight time, compared to the previous records of 3-4 hours. Your job will be to implement additional improvements, that are estimated to increase the record further, to almost 6 hours.
You will take ownership of key parts of the aircraft’s mechanical design, including its airframe, propulsion integration, battery structure, lightweight components, and manufacturing approach. This is a highly practical role involving CAD design, 3D printing, workshop assembly, testing, and rapid iteration.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate directly in an official world-record.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and optimize the drone’s mechanical structure in SolidWorks
- Reduce aircraft weight while maintaining sufficient strength and stiffness
- Design mounts, enclosures, battery structures, landing components, and propulsion-system interfaces
- Produce parts using 3D printing, CNC machining, composites, and other rapid-prototyping methods
- Assemble, modify, and repair physical prototypes in the workshop
- Conduct structural, vibration, endurance, and flight-related tests
- Analyze failures and rapidly redesign components based on test results
- Work closely with electrical, propulsion, and flight-control engineers
- Help prepare the aircraft for an official world-record flight attempt
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field
- Strong SolidWorks or equivalent CAD skills
- Experience designing parts that have been physically manufactured and assembled
- Familiarity with 3D printing and rapid prototyping
- Comfortable using workshop tools such as drills, Dremels, saws, adhesives, and hand tools
- Good understanding of mechanical design, materials, fasteners, tolerances, and structural loads
- Experience with lightweight structures, composites, drones, aircraft, or robotics is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills and a practical, hands-on approach
