We are looking for an experienced Battery & Energy Storage Power Electronics Engineer to join a technically advanced engineering team developing innovative solutions for the rapidly growing energy storage market.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), bidirectional converters, DC/DC power conversion and BMS interfaces, contributing to the development of high-performance energy storage solutions.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and developing bidirectional power converters for battery and energy storage applications
- Working on DC/DC converter architectures and topologies
- Supporting the development and integration of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- Developing and implementing interfaces between power electronics and Battery Management Systems (BMS)
- Working on battery charging and discharging power-flow control
- Supporting the selection and integration of power semiconductors and other key components
- Performing electrical, thermal and system-level analysis and simulations
- Developing and validating converter control strategies
- Supporting prototype development, laboratory testing and system validation
- Analysing efficiency, losses, thermal performance and system behaviour
- Working closely with hardware, software, controls, battery and systems engineering teams
- Supporting design reviews, technical documentation and product qualification
You will ideally have:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Energy Systems or a related discipline
- Professional experience in power electronics development
- Experience with bidirectional converters, DC/DC converters and/or BESS
- Good understanding of battery systems and BMS interfaces
- Knowledge of power conversion topologies, switching devices and converter control
- Experience with simulation tools such as PLECS, MATLAB/Simulink, LTspice or similar
- Practical experience with laboratory testing, validation and troubleshooting
- Understanding of efficiency, thermal management, EMC/EMI and system reliability
- A hands-on, analytical and solution-oriented approach
- Native-level German language skills are essential
- Good working proficiency in English
