Employment: Permanent / Full-time

We are looking for an experienced Power Electronics Engineer to join a technically advanced engineering team developing high-performance power electronics and motion-control solutions for robotics, automation and industrial machinery.

This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer with experience in servo drives, motor control and compact power converters who wants to work on highly dynamic, efficient and space-constrained drive systems.

The Role

As a Power Electronics Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, integration and validation of advanced power conversion and motor-control systems for robotics and industrial machinery.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and developing servo drive and motor drive systems
  • Developing compact, high-performance power converter architectures
  • Working on inverter and DC/DC converter designs for robotics and machinery
  • Developing and optimising motor-control strategies
  • Supporting the integration of motors, encoders, sensors and control electronics
  • Selecting and applying power semiconductor technologies such as IGBT, SiC and GaN
  • Performing electrical, thermal and system-level analysis and simulations
  • Optimising power density, efficiency, dynamic response and thermal performance
  • Supporting prototype development and laboratory testing
  • Performing validation, troubleshooting and performance optimisation
  • Investigating switching behaviour, losses, EMI/EMC and system reliability
  • Working closely with hardware, embedded software, controls, mechanical and systems engineering teams
  • Supporting technical documentation, design reviews and product qualification

You will ideally have:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Automation Engineering or a related discipline
  • Professional experience in power electronics or electrical drive development
  • Experience with servo drives, motor control and/or compact power converters
  • Strong understanding of inverter and converter topologies
  • Experience with FOC, vector control or other advanced motor-control techniques
  • Knowledge of power semiconductor technologies such as IGBT, SiC and/or GaN
  • Understanding of switching losses, thermal management and EMC/EMI
  • Experience with high-frequency and compact power electronics design
  • Familiarity with simulation tools such as PLECS, MATLAB/Simulink, LTspice or similar
  • Practical experience with prototype development, testing and validation
  • Experience with industrial automation, robotics or motion-control systems is advantageous
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • A hands-on and structured approach to engineering
  • Native-level German language skills are essential
  • Good working proficiency in English

If you are a Power Electronics, Motor Control or Servo Drive Engineer with experience in servo drives, motor control or compact converters, are a native German speaker, and are looking for your next technical challenge within robotics, automation or industrial machinery in Bavaria, we'd be keen to hear from you.
