The Role:

As a Power Electronics Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, integration and validation of advanced power conversion systems for data centre applications.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and developing UPS and uninterruptible power supply systems
  • Developing and optimising high-efficiency AC/DC and DC/DC power supplies
  • Working on DC power distribution architectures
  • Supporting high-power and high-density power conversion systems
  • Developing and optimising inverter, rectifier and converter stages
  • Supporting the integration of power electronics into critical data centre infrastructure
  • Performing electrical, thermal and system-level analysis and simulations
  • Optimising system efficiency, power density and thermal performance
  • Supporting the development of control strategies for converters, rectifiers and UPS systems
  • Developing prototypes and supporting testing, validation and commissioning
  • Analysing power quality, efficiency, losses, thermal behaviour and system reliability
  • Supporting redundancy, fault-tolerance and high-availability requirements
  • Working closely with hardware, software, controls, thermal, mechanical and systems engineering teams
  • Contributing to technical specifications, design reviews and product qualification

You will ideally have:

  • Strong understanding of AC/DC and DC/DC converter topologies
  • Knowledge of inverter, rectifier and power factor correction technologies
  • Experience with high-power and/or high-density power conversion
  • Knowledge of power semiconductor technologies such as IGBT, SiC and/or GaN
  • Understanding of thermal management, switching losses and EMC/EMI
  • Experience with simulation tools such as PLECS, MATLAB/Simulink, LTspice or similar
  • Practical experience with prototype testing, validation and troubleshooting
  • Experience with high-availability, redundant or safety-critical power systems is advantageous
  • Knowledge of data centre power architectures and standards is a strong advantage
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • A hands-on and structured approach to engineering
  • German language skills are essential
  • Good working proficiency in English

If you are a Power Electronics Engineer with experience in UPS, high-efficiency PSUs, AC/DC or DC/DC converters, or DC distribution, are a German speaker, and are looking for your next technical challenge within the data centre sector in Bavaria, we'd be keen to hear from you.
