Mechanical Design Engineer

You will be involved in the product development cycle, from concept and detailed design to prototyping, testing, and production support. The ideal candidate should have strong mechanical design fundamentals and hands-on experience with Creo/SolidWorks, along with strong knowledge of mechanisms, materials, manufacturing processes.
Your Work
- Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for robotic systems.
- Perform design calculations, engineering analysis, and component sizing to ensure reliability and performance.
- Design and select bearings, and materials other mechanical components based on application requirements.
- Participate in New Product Development (NPD) activities from concept development through prototype, testing, validation, and production.
- Create and maintain detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation using Creo
- Work closely with R&D, Manufacturing, Electronics, Controls, and other cross-functional teams to develop integrated robotic solutions.
- Review designs for DFM/DFA, manufacturability, assembly, serviceability, and cost optimization.
- Support prototype development, testing, troubleshooting, and design iterations.
- Identify design issues and implement effective engineering solutions based on testing and field feedback.
- Ensure designs meet required performance, accuracy, reliability, and safety standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of existing robotic products and mechanical systems.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design fundamentals, engineering calculations, and machine design.
- Good knowledge of bearings, fasteners, joints, and mechanisms.
- Hands-on experience with CAD tools such as Creo, SolidWorks or equivalent.
- Understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, material selection, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience in New Product Development and prototype development.
- Good understanding of machining, sheet metal, fabrication, and other manufacturing processes.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Good communication and technical documentation skills.
- Experience in robotics, automation, industrial machinery, or precision mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of robot joints, actuators, gearboxes, and transmission systems.
- Understanding of kinematics, dynamics, and motion mechanisms.
- Experience working with vendors and manufacturing teams for precision components.
- Exposure to design optimization, cost reduction, and reliability improvement.
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
