Automation Design Engineer

The ideal candidate possesses strong expertise in electrical system design, control panel design, PLC programming, and automation equipment integration, with hands-on experience supporting manufacturing and industrial automation projects from concept through commissioning.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Electrical & Control System Design
- Design and develop electrical architectures for automated manufacturing equipment and production systems.
- Create detailed electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and wiring diagrams using industry-standard CAD tools.
- Perform electrical component selection, including:
- PLCs
- HMIs
- Safety controllers
- Servo drives
- Industrial sensors
- Motion control systems
- Power distribution components
- Develop safety control systems and machine safety logic in compliance with applicable safety standards.
- Develop, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC programs for automation equipment.
- Support integration of motion control, vision systems, robotics, and other automation technologies.
- Configure and troubleshoot industrial communication networks including:
- EtherCAT
- TCP/IP
- Serial Communication (RS232/RS485)
- Modbus
- Ethernet-based industrial protocols
- Support machine commissioning, debugging, validation, and production startup activities.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Mechanical Engineers, Software Engineers, and Manufacturing teams to achieve project objectives.
- Review customer requirements and technical specifications to ensure accurate implementation.
- Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and meeting quality expectations.
- Support design reviews, risk assessments, and technical problem-solving activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Generate and maintain:
- Electrical schematic packages
- Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Panel layouts
- Installation manuals
- User manuals
- Technical documentation
- Ensure designs comply with applicable electrical, safety, and manufacturing standards.
- Maintain accurate engineering records and project documentation in project tracking systems.
- Provide technical guidance to panel builders, machine assemblers, and suppliers.
- Support equipment assembly, wiring verification, FAT, SAT, and installation activities.
- Ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability, maintainability, and reliability.
- Bachelor's Degree in:
- Electrical Engineering, or
- Mechatronics Engineering with strong Electrical Engineering experience.

- Experience with machine commissioning and startup support.
- Knowledge of robotics, vision systems, and Industry 4.0 technologies.

- Advanced knowledge of mechanical/electronics/electrical/software application engineering.
- Advanced knowledge of EMS industries.
- Advanced knowledge of automation equipment assembly and wiring, installation.
- B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering/ Mechatronic but has strong experience in Electrical design.
- Minimum 5- 7 years experiences in automation equipment design and installation.
- Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
