Job Overview
The main objective of this role is the development of robust, EMC-compliant, and functionally safe automotive electronic hardware systems for mixed-signal and high-voltage applications.
The Senior Hardware Engineer (m/f/d) is responsible for defining hardware architectures and developing reliable electronic solutions that meet stringent automotive requirements regarding electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), functional safety according to ISO 26262 up to ASIL C, and Automotive SPICE-oriented development processes.
Job Requirements
- Development of analog and digital hardware for automotive applications in the field of mixed-signal and high-voltage electronics
- Creation of hardware architectures that covers the created hardware requirements, circuit designs and technical specifications
- Responsibility for EMC-compliant development of electronic assemblies
- Definition, creation, and maintenance of EMC specifications and EMC requirements at system and hardware level
- Execution of EMC analyses, design reviews, and derivation of appropriate protection and filtering concepts
- Support and evaluation of internal and external EMC testing activities
- Development of diagnostic and safety mechanisms at hardware level according to ISO 26262 up to ASIL C
- Execution of Electronic Design FMEA, FMEDA and safety analyses in cooperation with functional safety experts
- Selection and evaluation of electronic components considering automotive and safety requirements
- Preparation of development documentation according to Automotive SPICE-oriented development processes
- Close cooperation with software, system, layout, and test engineering teams
- Technical coordination with customers, suppliers, and certification authorities
- Creation of EMC specifications
- EMC-compliant circuit and PCB design
- Knowledge of relevant automotive EMC standards
- Experience with EMC testing and troubleshooting
- Experience in Circuit Simulation and on risk assessment methods like FMEA, FMEDA
- Experience with Automotive SPICE-oriented development processes
- Experience in the development of safety-related systems according to ISO 26262 (ASIL C)
- Structured and self-driven working style
- Very good German and English communication skills
- Proficient in ECAD tools (preferred Altium Designer)
