Control Engineer
Indexed description
Facing rising energy demand and increasingly strict environmental requirements, EHG delivers real, innovative solutions through its fuel cell technologies : driving the transition toward a decarbonised, decentralised energy system.
To help bring this vision to life, we are looking for a Senior Control Engineer to support our efforts in designing control strategies for containerized systems integrating our fuel cell technology alongside equipment such as gas reformers, batteries, and climate control units. You will play a key role in shaping how these complex, multi-equipment systems operate safely and efficiently in the field.
This role requires full-time, on-site presence at our Nyon, Switzerland office. We're not able to offer remote or hybrid arrangements, so candidates should be prepared to relocate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop control strategies, models, and algorithms for test-benches, fuel cell system and containerized power supply systems using Matlab/Simulink or Siemens PLCs
- Support our efforts in translating a prototype working control algorithm in Simulink towards an industrial quality level code in TIA Portal Step 7
- Implement, tune and validate controllers for thermal, air, fuel and power subsystems
- Define control requirements, state machines and safety/diagnostic logic
- Participate in the continuous improvement (performance, efficiency and robustness ) of our products
- Support model-in-the-loop (MIL) testing and validation procedures
- Collaborate with embedded, test and electrical engineering
- BSc/MSc in Control, Electrical, Mechatronic or Automation Engineering (mandatory)
- Minimum 3-4 years of experience in control engineering (senior-level position)
- Skill 1 : Strong experience in process control engineering, particularly with containerized power supply systems; knowledge of programming and implementing safety PLCs is a strong plus
- Skill 2 : Strong experience with TIA Portal (Step 7, WinCC, Test Suite), with the ability to structure code to industrial standards and meet certification requirements
- Team player, with the ability to:
- Mentor the control team by clearly explaining your code and helping the team adopt robust industrial methods : you may take on a leadership role in developing Skill 1 and Skill 2 across the team
- Collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary teams
- Solid knowledge of control theory, state machines and system identification
- Strong experience with MATLAB/Simulink and model-based design is a plus
- Excellent spoken and written English and French (mandatory); German is a plus
