SIMICS Engineer

HCLTech is looking for experienced SIMICS Engineers to support our customer's engineering project.

The role will involve working with SIMICS-based virtual platforms and simulation environments to support platform development, validation, debugging, and automation activities.

Due to the critical project timeline, candidates must have strong hands-on SIMICS experience and be able to contribute with minimal onboarding and ramp-up time.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, configure, and maintain SIMICS virtual platforms and simulation environments.
• Develop and maintain SIMICS models and simulation components.
• Create and maintain Python-based automation and scripts for simulation and validation.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues within SIMICS environments.
• Support platform bring-up, validation, and system-level testing using SIMICS.
• Analyze simulation results and investigate failures to identify root causes.
• Integrate simulation environments with automated validation and testing frameworks.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, software, and validation engineering teams.
• Maintain simulation configurations, scripts, models, and technical documentation.
• Contribute to improving simulation and validation automation.

Required Skills & Experience

• Hands-on professional experience with Intel SIMICS.
• Strong understanding of SIMICS virtual platforms and system-level simulation.
• Strong Python programming/scripting skills.
• Experience with C/C++ is highly desirable.
• Good understanding of computer architecture and hardware/software interaction.
• Experience working in a Linux environment.
• Experience with hardware/software validation, firmware, or system-level testing.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Git or other version-control systems.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience working with Intel platforms.
• Experience developing or modifying SIMICS models/device models.
• Experience with x86/server architecture.
• Knowledge of BIOS/UEFI, firmware, BMC, PCIe, memory, storage, or networking.
• Experience with pre-silicon or post-silicon validation.
• Experience with validation automation and CI/CD environments such as Jenkins.
• Previous experience working in an Intel engineering environment.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is an experienced SIMICS Engineer who can become productive quickly and requires minimal project-specific training or knowledge transfer.

Candidates with recent hands-on SIMICS development experience and experience supporting complex hardware/software platforms are preferred.

Candidates requiring extensive SIMICS training or a prolonged ramp-up period may not be suitable for this requirement.
