Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Lead CNC Programmer role located in Colorado Springs, CO. Depending on performance, some remote days possible. The CNC Programmer will create, modify, and optimize CNC programs for lathe and mill operations with a focus on lathe.
Daily responsibilities include
- interpreting technical drawings
- setting up and testing programs on CNC machines
- collaborating with machinists to improve processes
- troubleshooting programming or machining issues as they arise.
The role involves selecting appropriate tools and cutting parameters, verifying first-article parts, and maintaining accurate documentation for jobs and revisions. The CNC Programmer will also support continuous improvement efforts related to efficiency, safety, and quality on the shop floor. In order of preference, proficiency in one of the following is non negotiable:
- MasterCam
- Fusion 360
- BobCam
Qualifications
- Strong CNC Programming and Programming skills for creating and optimizing machine code.
- Practical Machining and Milling experience for setting up, operating, and validating CNC operations.
- Ability to read and interpret Technical Drawing and blueprints for precise part production.
- Attention to detail with a focus on quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications.
- Experience with common CNC controls (e.g., Fanuc, Haas, or similar) and related software.
- Solid understanding of tooling, feeds and speeds, and material properties in a machine shop environment.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with machinists, engineers, and supervisors.
- Relevant vocational training or technical certification in machining, manufacturing technology, or a related field; prior experience in a precision machining environment is preferred.
COMPENSATION $75-95K Salary or Wage equivalent with health benefits.
