Controls Engineer

Our client is looking to appoint an experienced Controls Engineer. This is a hands-on engineering role supporting control systems, automation and instrumentation across multiple manufacturing facilities, with approximately 25% travel.

Due to the nature of the business, we can only consider US Citizens / Green card holders. Sponsorship is not available for this role.

The role

• Design, program, commission and support PLC, DCS, SCADA and HMI systems
• Work with DeltaV and associated instrumentation
• Troubleshoot and optimise control systems to improve safety, reliability and performance
• Lead control system changes through the Management of Change (MOC) process
• Support capital projects from design through commissioning and handover
• Develop control system standards, documentation and cybersecurity practices
• Support historians and automation data integrations
• Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering and IT/OT teams
• Identify automation and process improvement opportunities
• Provide technical guidance, training and mentoring

We're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
• 5+ years' experience with instrumentation and control systems
• 3+ years' experience working with contractors
• Experience with PLC/DCS/SCADA/HMI systems, ideally including DeltaV
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable supporting multiple facilities and travelling approximately 25%
