Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Design and develop RF and microwave power amplifier circuits for wireless communication systems.
- Lead the architecture, design, optimization and validation of Doherty Power Amplifiers operating across various frequency bands.
- Conduct RF simulations using industry-standard EDA tools such as ADS, AWR Microwave Office, HFSS, CST or equivalent.
- Develop schematic designs, perform component selection and support PCB layout reviews.
- Analyze and optimize amplifier performance including efficiency, gain, linearity, ACLR, EVM, PAE and thermal characteristics.
- Support prototype development, debugging, tuning and verification in laboratory environments.
- Utilize RF test equipment including vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters and oscilloscopes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and ensure successful product integration.
- Document design methodologies, test results and engineering specifications.
- Support product transition from development through production and manufacturing validation.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, RF Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on RF design experience, including power amplifier development.
- Demonstrated expertise designing and optimizing Doherty Power Amplifiers for commercial wireless applications.
- Strong understanding of RF fundamentals including impedance matching, stability analysis, nonlinear device characterization and RF system performance metrics.
- Experience with RF simulation and modeling tools such as ADS, AWR Microwave Office, HFSS, CST, or similar.
- Proficiency in RF measurement techniques and laboratory testing utilizing LabVIEW, MATLAB or equivalent.
- Knowledge of PCB design principles for RF and high-frequency circuits.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience designing power amplifiers for 4G LTE, 5G NR, ORAN, or other wireless infrastructure applications.
- Familiarity with digital predistortion (DPD) and crest factor reduction (CFR) techniques.
- Experience with GaN, LDMOS, or advanced RF semiconductor technologies.
- Knowledge of multi-band, wideband and high-power RF amplifier designs.
- Experience supporting products through manufacturing and volume production.
- Familiarity with EM simulation and RF packaging considerations.
- Ability to work on-site at our Dallas, TX engineering laboratory, including hands-on testing, tuning, troubleshooting and validation of RF hardware prototypes.
Compensation may vary depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, competencies and location. Base pay is one part of the total compensation and benefits package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives.
