Job Summary
Millstone Power Station in Waterford, CT is looking for a Mechanical Engineering intern to work in its Rapid Response Design Engineering department the summer of 2027.
The intern will be working on design expertise, ownership, and maintenance of Mechanical Engineering areas of expertise and calculations that support design basis of the station. Under direction of supervisor or senior engineers, interns will: Prepare and Provide implementation support for design changes/modifications that support the long-term reliability and operation of the station. This includes support of projects produced within the Station Design and Station Projects organizations, and with external vendors/architect-engineers contracted by Station Projects. Prepare or revise calculations in support of engineering products. Conduct inspections of station structures and equipment.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office products is desired.
- Must be able to follow instructions and be a team player.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Solid engineering skills, commensurate with grade level.
- Good communication skills, technical writing skills, and computer skills.
- An inquisitive nature, an ability to follow written and verbal directions, and strong professional ethics.
- Must be a student studying Mechanical Engineering in an ABET accredited engineering program at a 4-year college or university
- Must have a graduation date of December 2028 or later
- Must have a GPA of at least 3.0
Hourly Rate

$23.00 - $29.00
The hourly rate listed is the rate we anticipate paying for this position. If a range is listed, the actual hourly rate offered may vary based on factors such as the selected candidate's degree type, academic major, and/or school classification (e.g., sophomore, junior, senior).
