Senior Hardware Engineer

Job Summary

Offering differentiating factors and competitive advantage to Avnet's component business and help positioned Avnet as the preferred partner of both suppliers and customers. Helps build long term vendor-customer relationship with Avnet's key customers.

Together with Market Development team, helps Avnet to win and grow business in the focused vertical market.

Principal Responsibilities

• Manage and deliver the internal reference design or external projects undertaken by Avnet team, meeting the expected timeline and requirements.
• Involve in all aspects of the design cycle from concept to production release in areas such as feasibility studies, product definition, detailed design, testing and troubleshooting, documentation and inclusive training and on-site support where necessary.
• Multi-tasking in delivering technical support surrounding hardware to the regions in respective focused application/technology line card.
• Familiar with embedded MCU, MPU design with good analog circuit comprehension.
• Support may extend up to solving product type approval and certification issues faced by the customers.

• Extensive knowledge and application of principles, theories and concepts. Complete knowledge of all job functions and the broad industry best practices, techniques and standards.
• Develops solutions to complex problems where analysis of situations and/or data requires in-depth evaluation of variables. Determine best approach to achieve results and provide suggestions to improve policies and procedures.
• Work is performed independently and requires the exercise of judgment and discretion. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments. Work may be reviewed at a high-level.
• May represent the organization as a primary contact on assignments and/or projects. Interacts with senior professionals and management and frequently coordinates work between departments or organizations.
• Actions may impact the organization. Failure to accomplish work will result in the inability to reach crucial organizational goals. Erroneous decisions may have a prolonged effect resulting in the expenditure of substantial resources.

Work Experience

• Over 8 years’ experience in semi-conductors or electronics industry
• R&D / Product Development background.
• Experience in project management and technical support.
• Experience in working across various vertical markets, applications and technologies will be an added advantage.
• Hands-on person and experience with CAD tools for schematic and PCB layout for high-speed design.

Education And Certification(s)

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering or similar discipline
