Our client is a leading name in commercial decarbonisation across the UK and Ireland, specialising in offsite prefabricated energy systems.
About the Role
As part of our growing Design Team in Dublin, you will take ownership of mechanical designs from concept through to commissioning, working across a diverse portfolio of public and commercial decarbonisation projects.
Responsibilities
- Manage mechanical design delivery for commercial decarbonisation projects
- Produce schematics, calculations, plant selections, bills of materials, and specifications
- Develop and validate BMS control strategies through to on site verification
- Carry out site surveys, assessments, and feasibility studies across the UK
- Work with fabrication teams to translate designs into manufactured solutions
- Support commissioning, optimisation, and proofing of BMS controls
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and industry standards
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practice
Qualifications
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or equivalent
- Chartered Engineer, CIBSE or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years in a similar mechanical design role
Required Skills
- Strong experience with LTHW, MTHW, and steam heating systems
- Solid knowledge of UK and European standards and legislation
- Experience with site surveys, energy assessments, and audits
- Fluent written and spoken English
Preferred Skills
- AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM 360 proficiency
- Experience with IES, Hysopt, or similar simulation tools
- Hands on experience with heat pumps, including systems over 1MW
- Data centre HTG and CHW experience
- Solar thermal or district heating design experience
- BREEAM retrofit experience
