Title: Product Design Engineer - Structures - 122829

Onsite/Remote:Onsite Position

Your Responsibilities

As a Structures Engineer for Dubuque Works located in Dubuque, Iowa, you will support the Small Excavator Structures and Undercarriage Design Development. In addition, you will:

• Collaborate within a cross functional team to develop structural designs that meet customer needs
• Support the design and print development for small excavator structures within the product delivery process of new product program
• Support physical builds, production launches, testing, and customer field evaluations

What Skills You Need

• Experience with product development processes
• Strong desire and ability to learn and apply design principles to ongoing design activities
• Experience with 3D modeling tools, such as Creo and Solidworks
• Demonstrated experience and ability to analyze technical data, consider multiple alternatives, and provide data-driven decisions/recommendations
• Demonstrated strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
• Ability and willingness to travel both domestic and internationally, up to 25%

What Makes You Standout

• Familiarity with construction, agriculture, or forestry equipment
• Cross-functional experience related to verification, performance evaluation, software, and/or manufacturing teams
• Working knowledge of John Deere product development processes.
• Experience developing and applying geometrical dimension and tolerancing principles and tolerance stack ups
• Experience performing or interpreting FEA analysis
• Experience with stampings, welding, casting, composites, and/or machining processes
• Demostrated experience managing several projects simultaneously

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Weld Engineering, or Agricultural Engineering
