Senior Electrical Engineer

Role Description The Senior Electrical Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This role is responsible for leading electrical design and engineering activities for construction projects, including reviewing drawings, specifications, and technical documentation. The Senior Electrical Engineer will oversee power distribution and power systems design, coordinate with project managers, architects, and other engineers, and ensure compliance with local codes, international standards, and client requirements. Day-to-day tasks include conducting load calculations, preparing BOQs, reviewing shop drawings, performing site inspections, resolving technical issues, and supporting testing and commissioning activities. The role also involves mentoring junior engineers, liaising with suppliers and subcontractors, and contributing to project planning, schedules, and cost control.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Electrical Engineering with practical knowledge of electricity principles and applications.
• Proficiency in electrical design, including preparation and review of drawings, calculations, and technical specifications.
• Experience with power distribution systems, including LV/MV networks, panel boards, and protection schemes.
• Knowledge of power systems analysis, load flow, fault calculations, and coordination with utility requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; advanced certifications are an advantage.
• Proven experience in building construction projects within a contracting company

having at least 5 years of UAE experience.

• Familiarity with relevant international and local electrical codes and standards (e.g., IEC, NFPA, DEWA or local authority regulations).
• Ability to use engineering and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, electrical calculation tools) and strong MS Office skills.
• Effective communication, coordination, and leadership skills, with the ability to guide junior team members and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to safety, quality, and timely project delivery.
• Has handed over to several multi-storey buiding projects to DEWA.
